Eliminate the phrase “I’m supposed to be able to” from my BJJ vocabulary. Try it with belief behind it or shut up.

It’s a new week and I will focus on accepting what is and what is in my power to change.

Some days I feel like I’m eating and working out and sleeping right and I train like I’ve never stepped on a mat or perhaps been introduced to my muscles before.

Other days I get off work after 11:00pm after starting at 12:00, get up at 4:00 to drive to my home state for jury duty, lose my wallet with hundreds of dollars in it I just got for a Thai therapy package of sessions and hadn’t had a chance to deposit yet (in addition to ID, cc’s, etc), drive back, get no more sleep, and train with happiness and vigor and beautiful technique all while absorbing the big picture of what the class was about that day.

Go figure.
